Keir Martland

Keir Martland (Director of Publications)  is a conservative-libertarian in both the Austrian School and British Tory traditions. He is the Director of the Ludwig von Mises Centre UK. He reads History at Selwyn College, Cambridge, where he is a member of a number of societies including the Cambridge University Heraldic and Genealogical Society, the Union Society, and the Conservative Association. A member of the Conservative Party, he has previously held elected posts in local Conservative Future branches, and he identifies with both the traditionalist and libertarian elements within that party. He is a regular speaker at libertarian conferences such as at Professor Hans-Hermann Hoppe’s Property and Freedom Society in Bodrum, Turkey. Other speaking engagements have included at universities. He also appears in the news media from time to time, such as on Dublin City FM discussing the European Union Referendum in 2016, and on Cambridge University student radio station Cam FM. His writings have been published by The Salisbury Review, The Backbencher, Quadrangle Magazine, among others, and he has published a book of selected essays under the title Political and Cultural Essays. In his spare time, he is a Warden and Sacristan at his College’s Chapel, volunteers for the Order of Malta, plays the piano in which he holds Grade 5 Practice, has an interest in botany, and holds a 4th Kyu in Shotokan Karate.
